look,see,watch,read,meet
look，see，watch，read，這四個詞都有「看」的意思，但是「看」法不同：
look指集中注意力地看，是有意的，強調「看」的動作。單獨使用時，用來引起對方的注意；如果跟賓語，要和at連用。
例如：
- Look! Tom is over there.看！湯姆在那兒。
- Look at the blackboard, please.請看黑板。
- Look at the girl, she is beautiful. =Look! The girl is beautiful.
- Jean, look ! This dress is so pretty. = Jean, look at the dress, it is so pretty.
- Let me just take a look at......
- What are you looking at? 你正在看什麼? (What are you looking for?你在找什麼)
- I am looking at the album.
我正在看相本。 - I am looking at my girlfriend's photo.
- Look here!
看這裡 - Take a look here.
看這裡 - have a look 一般用於建議別人『看看吧』，比如 Let's go and have a look.
take a look 一般是表達自己的想法...比如買東西時人家問你 Can I help you? 你就要回答 Just take a look.（隨便看看。）
也有人說have a look=take a look
see強調「看」的結果，意為「看見、看到」，你看到對方，但對方不一定看到你。
例如：
- How many birds can you see in the tree?你能看到樹上有多少隻鳥兒？
- let me see可說是讓我看看或者是讓我想想

Let me see, it was purple I think.(這裡指的是讓我想想)
I will think about it.也是「想」，但含有「考慮」的意思。 - Did you see her notebook?
你看到他的筆電嗎?(常用過去式，因為看的動作已經發生了) - It is scary when I see a ghost.

- see 也可以當作「明白瞭解」

meet 是遇見會面，雙方互相看到。或用在雙方不期而遇。

- Where do you meet your friend?
- We met my father's friend. He is rich.
- I met a bear in the forest, it was really scare me.
- Why don't we meet somewhere?
- run into 可以解釋為「撞見」，語氣比meet強烈。
watch強調「專注地看」，有欣賞的意味，常用於看電視、看球賽等。
例如：
- Do you watch TV at night?
你晚上看電視嗎？ - I want my mom to watch me ride a horse.
