so..that 與 too..to 的用法

You are so heavy.
You are too heavy.
以上兩者均可

You are so heavy that ....
You are too heavy to....
要表示你太重以致於必須如何....

1、too..to...是太...所以不能。to後面的句子要用否定來解釋
He is too short to reach the apple.
他太矮了所以夠不到蘋果

2、so..that..是太...所以。that後面的句子要用肯定來解釋
He is so handsome that many girls love him.
他太帥了所以很多女孩子愛他。

如果要表示too..to..就要用否定詞
He is so short that he cannot reach the apple.這句意思和1一樣，但是用了cannot這個否定詞~如果用too..to就不用~

其他例句
She is so picky that she is still single.
她太挑剔以至於她到現在還是單身。
也可以寫成 She is picky so that she is still single.

My brother is too young to go to school.
我弟弟太小而不能上學。

It's too late to catch the bus.
It's so late that I can't catch the bus.
